Hello everybody
Here is another in the occasional series of Tawa Historical Society newsletters to bring you up-to-date with our activities.
Anzac Day 2025
The Tawa Historical Society and its members have received a specific invitation from the Tawa RSA to attend the 2025 Anzac Day commemorations in Tawa on Friday 25 April. The event will start at the New World car-park in Oxford Street at 9.30am and process northwards at 9.45am on Oxford Street to the War Memorial for a 10.00am start for the civic service. The formal part of the day will be followed by a morning tea in the RSA clubrooms. We hope to see many members there.
Celebrating some long-standing Tawa Historical Society officers on Sunday 29 June 2025
Mark your diaries or calendars with the above date. We will be celebrating the contribution made by some now-retired THS officers and honorary members to our activities over afternoon tea on Sunday 29 June. The exact details of the time and location still need to be arranged and will be confirmed nearer the time by email to all members. Spouses, partners and families are also welcome to attend.
Your chance to contribute to the Tawa Historical Society
After a series of retirements from the Executive Committee over the past few years the committee has had a period of relative stability over the past few months. However, we are still looking for a person to take on the Secretary role. If this sounds like you, please contact David Parsons, THS Chairman (phone 021 250 1606) to discuss the role. Full handover training from the previous secretary will be provided.
